GREEN PHASE DECLARED FOR HURRICANE DEAN

Belmopan, 21st August 2007.                  At 12:00 p.m. today the center of Hurricane Dean was located near latitude 19.2 North…longitude 90.4 West or about 45 miles South - South East of Campeche Mexico.

 

Belize's National Emergency Coordinator, Lt. Col (Ret'd) George Lovell (left) conveys the message to the media via telephone that the Green Phase is declared for Belize by NEMO's Chairman, the Prime Minister.
The Chairman of NEMO who is the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Said Musa, has declared the Green Phase for the entire country of Belize with effect from mid-day today, Tuesday 21st August 2007.

 

NEMO advises persons traveling the 
highways to exercise care while driving.
Small craft operators should abide by the
small craft warning that is in effect for the
coast of Belize because of gusty winds, until
further notice.
